Ephesians 6:13 therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
7 pieces that must be worn daily in order to stand against the devil’s schemes.
It is important to study and understand what each piece of the Armor was created to protect:
· Sword of the Spirit
· Helmet of Salvation
· Breastplate of Righteousness
· Shield of Faith
· Belt of Truth
· Shoes of Peace
It’s not a battle against flesh and blood (people) more so against the rulers, authorities of this dark world (spiritual), and every evil spirit that prevents us from walking in the will of God.
We must be aware who we allow in our circle of friends and family in order to protect our atmosphere, our friends and families’ soul.
Not in the sense that the person is to be pushed away and excluded completely from our life, rather so the spirit they follow will not hinder our choices to make Godly day to day decisions. We become who we hang around. If they have a lot of negative influence, I'd be cautious on taking their advice.
Do you notice when the negativity starts to flow. Pay attention to how you allow others attitudes to change yours; it's a spiritual battle that many don't see and fall right into the trap and find themselves stuck.
You ever wonder why all of a sudden, you’re feeling down, or an unexpected burst of anxiety or stress becomes evident.
Logically you’re thinking there are no reasons to feel this way; there is nothing currently going on to make me feel these negativities.
Take a moment to look around and observe your atmosphere. Are you at home, did someone new come over? What are you listening to or watching? Information comes through various avenues and will shift the atmosphere which shifts your attitude and how you handle situations.
Are you at work in a meeting, the atmosphere shifted? Not everyone walks in the Spirit of the Lord, and you may be feeling someone else’s anxieties, stresses, frustrations, etc., don’t claim everything to be yours, be alert and pray in the Spirit on all occasions and at all times.
The bible tells us that love covers a multitude of sin and that we as Children of God should have fervent love for one another and that's why we can't make it about a person, (flesh and blood). Let’s label it as a spiritual attack and sometimes their chains cannot be broken without acknowledgment. They must desire to be freed and ask the Lord what steps they should take in order for those chains to be broken.
When you become familiar with these pieces of armor, then the enemy will not be able to easily persuade you in future choices.
The Lord desires us to communicate with Him first for any of life’s situations we face; He desires our love and thankfulness. Talk to Him first thing in the morning and throughout your day; end it with a grateful heart.
Ephesians 6:18-20
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
